The Board of Deacons at Immanuel Lutheran are responsible for the spiritual welfare of the Pastors and congregation members, individually and corporately.
Deacons are "lay ministers" who should be spiritually mature, regular in attendance at worship and Holy Communion, and who demonstrate love for the Word of God by personal attendance at Bible study, mature in personal attitudes, loyal to the congregation and its Pastors, "men of prayer" who have a genuine love for people.
The Board of Directors shall seek recommendations from the Senior Pastor and appoint 12 members of Immanuel to the Board of Deacons. The appointments will be for a three-year term which begins January 1 of each year. A maximum of three consecutive full terms may be served.
